“It’s discouraging to think how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deceit.”
― Noël Coward, Blithe Spirit

A liar is a person who changes the facts of an event or situation by giving details to the story that are untrue. The change of facts are not a misinterpretation or a unsubstantial lapse of memory; the altered information is intentional and, more often than not, benefit the liar or make him/her seem more appealing.

And a hypocrite is someone who portrays a certain lifestyle, or a deep set value, often preaching against a particular behavior or act, but secretly (or occasionally openly) partaking in what it is he/she publicly scorns.

“Truth without love is brutality, and love without truth is hypocrisy.”
― Warren Wiersbe

“The truth has become an insult.”
― Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Half of a Yellow Sun
