The 104th edition of this Grand Tour de France started on July 1 and will continue until July 23. Each cyclist burns between 5000-7000 calories per day/per stage, due to the tremendous physical effort and output, sprinting, climbing mountains, all that combined makes them burn thousands of calories which they need to replenish with food like this, every day.

Most of the teams have chefs and nutritionists who carefully monitor and calculate the needs of their key riders.

Very interesting, SHEREE. Can you imagine? Climbing all the Alps and riding for so many hours, competing not just gliding? hahaha, hard. They need the best of the best.

I have a number of friends who are either still riding in the professional peloton, or have retired, so I do know how tough it is.
