If Turkeys Thought

If turkeys thought,
they’d run away,
A week before Thanksgiving Day.
But turkeys can’t anticipate,
And so there’s turkey on my plate.

Grandma´s Turkey

I like the taste of turkey
Any time throughout the year
But it never seems to taste as good
As when Thanksgiving’s here.
Could be it’s all the trimmings
That are cooked with it to eat-
But I think it’s eating at Grandma’s house
That makes it such a treat.

My 8 Favorite Scary Medical Doctors Ever!

First of all: Happy Halloween to all of you who enjoy celebrating holidays as much as I do. I celebrate everything, if I can and my time allows it, I do celebrate holidays of all cultures and countries since we have a cultural diversity at home: White-Anglo-Saxon, American, Mexican, Spanish, Italian, and German. Soon to be added to this beautiful family of mine, Asian!

So, we get to celebrate Halloween and “El Día de Los Muertos” (The Day of the Dead) these coming days. The first one is mainly of Celtic origin in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Northern France. The second one is, guess from where? Yes, you guessed right: Mexican.

This year we decided to get together, have dinner, talk, enjoy each other’s company, and watch scary movies. This year movies will have a topic: The Scariest Medical Doctors of all Time!

How Do You Love To Celebrate Your Birthday?

Yes, we are born, aren’t we? Grow up a few months and then, 365 days later: BAM! Parents and grandparents decide to celebrate your first birthday on this earth, “a special day” they call it, a day none of us remember!

Needless to say: years go by, suddenly you are 7 and you want some presents for your birthday: mainly toys. When you are 16 things change, now you want to spend it with your friends, have a teenage party. Two or three years go by, now you are 18 or 19 and you want to celebrate your birthday with your sweetheart.

If everything goes fine in your life and you are “lucky” enough to grow older, the twenties, thirties, forties….fifties anyone?! Then what? How do you really want to celebrate your birthday?
