Beauty in Bicycles

Bicycles can be a lot of things to a lot of people. A mode of transportation, a way to build community, a way to keep in shape, a sport, or an extension of their personal style. But if your bike is an extension of your personal style and your style tends towards the more glamorous side of the closet, not just any old city bike will do.

Beauty comes in many forms. Engineering and craftsmanship can be beautiful. So can user-friendliness, performance, and even social significance — and, of course, forms and colors can be beautiful too.

What The Tour De France Cyclists Eat

The 104th edition of this Grand Tour de France started on July 1 and will continue until July 23. Each cyclist burns between 5000-7000 calories per day/per stage, due to the tremendous physical effort and output, sprinting, climbing mountains, all that combined makes them burn thousands of calories which they need to replenish with food like this, every day.

Creamy Spaghetti with lots of meat, cheese, and chunky veggies.

So, if you want to eat like this every day, grab your bike and climb the mountains at top speed!

Anything Goes On Sunday: I’d Rather Be Cycling!

I needed some house repairing tools and wanted a palm tree, but I was not in the mood to drive the car and get into traffic. So I decided to do what I really love to do: cycling. Really, I will rather be cycling than driving, all the time. So I grabbed my bike that has a rack attached to it and rode away to Home Depot!

On my way to the store, I was pedaling fast, breathing, puffing, and doing my usual “dancing on the bike”. After pedaling 16.7 miles (26.72 km) I got to the store,  secured my bike, went into the store, and bought what I wanted. Time to go back  🚲 🚲 🚲

I go to my bike to get everything ready to go back home. Using some high-quality stretch elastic bungee cord hooks I bought I tie the palm to the bike and to my surprise I rode without the palm moving to the sides at all, it was pretty secure!
The 16.7 miles (26.72 km) back home were so awesome and full of fun that I hardly felt the heavy weight I was carrying on my backpack, and the palm tree loved the ride!
I felt proud of myself knowing that I could carry in my bicycle everything I bought, and rode a total of 33.4 miles (53.44 km) with no problem, enjoying every second of it.

Quick Breakfast Ideas for You to Start Your Day Strong and Happy!

Have in mind that the kind of breakfast you should eat depends on the activity you are going to do that day. If you are going to exercise or not, the intensity of your physical activity, etc.

It is important to eat breakfast, but when you get up early in the morning to go out for a bike ride you don’t want to stuff yourself or you will feel bloated while riding your bike, and that is a very uncomfortable feeling.

If you have to hurry every morning before you go out to work you don’t want to spend hours cooking and eating breakfast. You don’t want eat a lot either, just the proper amount of food with the best quality of ingredients to keep you strong and sharp the first hours of your day.

So here there are some examples:

Remembering Happy Travel to South Korea Biz in 2018

I love to travel a lot and I am a well versed traveler but this is my first time in South Korea for business and fun. And since the Winter Olympics are happening in this country our family decided for us to stay three days at the Conrad Hotel in Seoul and then go to Pyongyang for the finals. So, so long Seoul, hello Pyeongchang!

It was very hard to track down accommodations close to these mountain events but we did it with anticipation though, we learned our lesson in Sochi 2014 where we stayed on a cruise ship near the coastal cluster and had to commute every day to watch my events. The way the security was set up most of the mountain based accommodations would have been difficult to get to without a car. We planned better this time.

Beautiful Sunday Morning Enjoying 3 days of Rain

Beautiful Sunday Morning

This Sunday is just gorgeous. My vegetables plants, bulbs, limes, lemons orange and mandarin trees are full with fruit and rain drops on their leaves.

It is winter but my tomatoes are enchanting! Something I notice this season is that they are bigger and sweeter. I wonder. Maybe it’s because I used my own compost last year, since april I started creating my own compost and started using it in the fall with my tomatoes and citrus.

The branches are so heavy they are bending down, that’s why I had to get some bamboo pieces to straighten them up. It was so much fun to do it. The smell of the wet dirt with the one coming from the wet oranges and limes, it’s  just to die for!

When I am not out cycling on the weekend, I love to take care of my plants. I have so many and in Winter I have as much work to do in the yard as in Spring and Summer, because I have to plant carrots, onion, garlic, etc., and I need to start preparing the dirt and seeds for the coming planting season and for Spring.

Nature is amazing, isn’t it?

I have always loved nature. Call it forest, oceans, animals, humans, lakes, air, sun, stars and anything beyond earth; micro and macro-systems, ecosystems. Breathing life, constantly, living the moment fully, integrating my thoughts with nature to feel myself alive, and not alone.

6 Things Successful People do Before 8 a.m.

What do successful people do differently? For one thing, they typically wake up very early. Long before they hit the office, they’ve been up and active, performing tasks that will set them up for success throughout the day.

By waking up early, you can get an edge on the day ahead. You’ll clear your mind and schedule so that you can focus on your work, which can help you reach your goals faster. Curious about how to make the most of your morning? Here are 6 things successful people do before 8 am, and how you can incorporate them into your routine.

You’ve probably heard the phrase “healthy body, healthy mind.” It’s important to take care of yourself physically. For most people, early on in the day is the best time to exercise, before the responsibilities of the day kick in. Whether it’s a brisk walk with your dog, an early run or a bike ride, get your body moving. Not only will it make you feel good, but studies have shown that exercise can improve brain function, so it might even make you smarter at work.

If you’re a busy person, chances are that eating a healthy breakfast is the last thing on your mind. But in terms of the day’s productivity, skipping breakfast can be a huge mistake. If you don’t eat something, chances are you’ll be hitting a vending machine or gorging on donuts at 10:30 am. How productive will you be, and how clearly will you be thinking at work, after that? If you want to be thinking and working at your best, make time to eat a balanced meal in the morning.

Picking up the dry cleaning. Walking the dog. Packing school lunches. Everyone has things that they have to do. To get a leg up on the day, get these things out of the way early. When you wake up early, you have time to attend to these quotidian tasks that can take up valuable mind space during the workday. If you get them out of the way, then you can focus solely on work, and your day will be far more effective. It’s a small change that can have a massive impact on your career.

Everyone procrastinates on one thing or another. Start the day right and get at least one of those hard to tackle tasks off of your to-do list. In the morning, you’re at your most energized and refreshed, and best prepared to take on a difficult task or project. You’ll be amazed at how much lighter it makes you feel for the rest of the day. Not only will you have the sense of accomplishment at having completed that task, but it won’t be looming ahead and causing stress all day.

To truly be successful in the long run, you must make a lifelong commitment to learning. There is never a point at which you’ve learned “enough”. Learning keeps the mind elastic and allows you to remain nimble in your work. This is important, as the landscape of every business will change over time.

Every day, make a point of spending some early AM time learning something. This might be by reading the newspaper, learning a new skill, or it might be by listening to podcasts relevant to your work. It might be a self-imposed study routine on a certain sector of your business. There are many ways to continue educating yourself. You never know what might give you your next great idea.

The best time to map out your day is in the early morning, before the distractions of the day set in. This is a time to consider your goals for the day and how to prioritize tasks to realize them.

Be realistic in mapping out your day: don’t set a mile-long to-do list that you’ll never be able to complete, or schedule yourself in such a way that you’ll be running from thing to thing and getting stressed out. Leave some room for breaks. Consider this plan like a road map, as if you’re on a cross-country trip. You have the freedom to veer off course if needed, but the structure of a general plan will help keep your journey on the right path.

Doing something useful when you feel least like doing anything almost guarantees a productive day.
