As all of you know, one of the tv shows I love to watch is Grey’s Anatomy. One of the many things I like from this show are Meredith’s monologues. Here is one for a wonderful sunday reflexion.

Word of the day: BOUNDARIES

“At some point you have to make a decision. Boundaries don’t keep other people out, they fence you in, life is messy… That’s how we are made… So you can waste your life drawing lines… Or you can live your life crossing them… But there are some lines… That are way too dangerous to cross… Here’s what I know, if you are willing to take the chance… The view from the other side is spectacular…” — Meredith, Grey’s Anatomy

5 Crazy Diets That Make You Lose Weight … or Not … LOL Have Fun! – Part #1

crazy diets dra martha castro noriega tijuana mexico

There is no great secret to lose weight. Small portions, healthy delicious meals and daily physical activity, in other words: avoid sedentarism.

We all know that, right? But many people want that “miracle” diet that is going to make us lose a ton of pounds/kilograms in 5 or 10 days and never gain it -the weight- back!

So, to have some fun, I have searched on the web for some crazy diets that people do. Some of them are really outrageously funny!

NOTE: I advice you NOT to follow any of these diets. I do not recommend them since they are not healthy and do not follow serious medical protocol research. This post is just for our weekend amusement.

CRAZY DIETS:

1. The Baby Food Diet

It replaces few of your food items with baby food (also means you poop like a baby). This one might seem easy, but trust me it’s like giving the taste of hell to your tongue. Having boiled, pureed veggies for 10 days without salt or any other spices can be a real tough task to perform. The things people do to lose weight!

2. The Beer and Sausage Diet

Call this the Tailgater’s Diet. Evo Terra, 44, an online exec in Tempe, Arizona, dropped from 195 to 177 pounds in 30 days consuming an average of about 1,500 calories a day—mostly from high-quality sausage and craft ale.

3. Miracle Diet

For this diet, one must consume only fruits for 2 days minimum. Also known as the Hollywood diet, this diet is all about making your body run on fruits or fruit juice for a span of 48 hours, minimum.

4. The Starbucks Diet

Stealing Jared’s strategy, Christine Hall, 66, a librarian from Alexandria, Virginia, lost more than 75 pounds over two years by eating only at Starbucks and sticking to about a 1,000-calorie per day diet. “Over time, scanning the calorie data helped me adjust my portion sizes,” she says.

5. The Eggs and Dessert Diet

You can have your cake and lose your gut too, a recent Tel Aviv University study found. People on 1,600 calories a day who ate a carb-and protein-rich breakfast that also included a dessert lost the same amount of weight (an average of 30 pounds over 4 months) as people on a low-carb diet (and no dessert).

Travel Greece to the Beauty of Summer in The Greek Isles and 3 Dinner Suggestions!

Travel Greece

The Greek Isles are a truly paradisaical destination: warm white sands, hidden coves, villages clinging to craggy hillsides.

The Cyclades, or Greek Isles’ shimmering turquoise-blue waters are an attraction in their own right! These islands have rustic mountains, bright sun, and mouthwatering food.

The most famous of the islands, Santorini, boasts breathtaking sunsets and dramatic white stone cliffs. Naxos, the largest of the isles, features long, sandy beaches, and stunning green valleys and ravines.

Nearby Naxos, the largest island of the Cyclades, is another one of the best Greek islands for a foodie, especially if you love cheese; the selection of locally-produced cheeses is almost bewildering!

Try the legendary graviera. Although it’s produced elsewhere in the country, including on Crete, the Naxos version uses cow’s milk instead of sheep’s milk. It’s incredibly versatile and can be used in salads or pies, or as an accompaniment to the likes of local spirits, ouzo or raki.

Recycle Tires Awesome Summer Project 5 Great Ideas – Part #1

RECYCLE TIRES this summer, for fun, imagination, creativity. Maybe you just want to save the planet. No matter the reason, this is a great project for this summer 2019!

Tire recycling or rubber recycling is the process of recycling vehicles’ tires (or tyres) that are no longer suitable for use on vehicles due to wear or irreparable damage (such as punctures). These tires are among the largest and most problematic sources of waste, due to the large volume produced and their durability.

Vanilla Comes From these Exotic Plants and 4 Primary Countries … Enjoy Reading!

VANILLA FARM IN MEXICO

vanilla dra martha castro noriega tijuana

True vanilla flavor comes from the cured seed pod (bean) of the vanilla orchid. The properly prepared pod contains vanillin and 100s of other flavor compounds.

These orchids are the only orchids that produce an edible seed. The primary producers of these beans are tropical areas: Mexico, Madagascar, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea.

Planifolia vs tahitensis

There are two distinct types of vanilla orchid:

1. V. Planifolia beans have a strong, familiar flavor, it is often called ‘Madagascar Bourbon’. Planifolia is the same variety grown in Mexico.

2. V. Tahitensis is a weaker vanilla with ‘fruity, floral, and sweet’ flavors created by the compound heliotropin. Tahitensis is a mutated form of a planifolia orchid from Tahiti, though most tahitensis is now grown in Papa New Guinea. This kind is favored by pastry chefs.

If vanilla is one of your favorite scents, you should consider growing it, so that you can have your own beans. From these beans, you can make your own essence, and appreciate your effort all the more.

Now days these beans are grown in several distinct regions of the world. This produces  beans with unique regional characteristics and attributes, each particularly suited to different uses.

The fruit, a long capsule, reaches its full length of about 20 cm (8 inches) in four to six weeks but may take up to nine months to mature. As soon as they turn golden green at the base, the unripe pods are harvested.

5 Rarities to Visit in Italy You Can’t Miss!

THE TREE CATHEDRAL IN BERGAMO

italy dra martha castro noriega tijuana mexico

If you’ve been to Italy, you’ve probably been to Rome. It’s got most of the sites and attractions that come to mind when people even THINK of Italy: the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Forum, Saint Peter’s Basilica. The city’s cobblestone streets, medieval architecture, and Renaissance-era fountains are (literally) what romance is made of.

GARDENS OF BOMARZO IN NORTHERN LAZIO

But for a truly unique travel experience, I like to visit the most unusual places of the country, where tourists are rare to see, places with one-of-a-kind photo ops, and chances to interact with authentic local Italian communities.

THE MATERA SASSI IN BASILICATA

italy dra martha castro noriega tijuana mexico

Have you heard of Baia? It was the Las Vegas of ancient times, attracting people from far and wide to its state-of-the-art baths and nightlife spaces. Powerful icons of ancient times were known to frequent Baia, from Nero to Cicero to Julius Caesar. If you want to walk in their footsteps now, however, you’ll need some scuba gear.

THE SUNKEN CITY OF BAIA IN NAPOLI

italy dra martha castro noriega tijuana mexico

Because of Baia’s location over natural volcanic vents, its water level slowly rose to swallow its once majestic buildings. Saracens sacked it by 1500, but some meaningful relics still remain under its waters to this day. Take time to visit Baia for an unparalleled perspective on antiquity. You’ll feel like it’s been frozen in time! It’s truly like no other place.
