Lately, several people have communicated to me that they feel extremely anxious about the times the world is going through now. The Covid-19 global pandemic has affected the lives and livelihood of millions around the world.
All this chaos that exists affects the mind and mental health of individuals. Anxiety, stress, depression, post-traumatic stress and other mental disturbances appear and unfortunately are not well attended and recognized on time. So, it is when you know that things are not working well that you have to work on your mental health and your emotions so you can not only survive but thrive in tough times:
Accept that some situations are beyond your control.
Motivate and inspire yourself everyday
Allow yourself time to grieve and feel all the feelings.
We certainly live very chaotic times around the world: there is terrible misinformation about health and economics. Some countries like the US and many others, are experiencing total destruction, societal violence and the disruption of order and true compassion.
But we also know that we still are going through a pandemic that has put millions of people from all countries in the world under financial struggle, food chain disruptions and sometimes famine.
All this injustice seems unreal and it can be very painful for many, taking a toll on their mental health. We have to take care of our mind everyday and not to be embarrassed to ask for help.
We need to heal our minds, give it especial attention and treat it with care. How are we going to heal the rest of our bodies if we don’t heal our mental state first?! How are we going to heal our society when the heads in authority position in our countries are sick and broken?
Be kind to yourself and others. Promote compassion and love.
In these Covid-19 pandemic coronavirus lockdown times, many thousands of people around the world are going to go through a painful day, missing the loved ones who have parted due to this terrible viral infection. To all of you, my most sincere from the heart condolences.
Millions of people are going to celebrate Mother’s Day staying at home, maintaining social distancing. Whether you are in self-isolation, quarantine, affected by travel restrictions, following proper social distancing, or just wanting to keep Mom safe, this Mother’s Day will be unlike any we’ve ever experienced.
To all my followers, readers, patients, friends and contacts who are mothers, I wish you have the best Mother’s Day, full of love, happiness and fulfillment.
In my family there are several mothers we celebrate today with much love, respect and admiration for everything they have done for the Castro-Pruitt-Schneider Family: my mother in law, my aunt, my daughter, and more.
Gladly I am included in the celebration as a mother and grandmother as well, so I am looking forward to lots of hugs and kisses, even when some of them are going to have to be virtual, from travel restrictions around the world.
Things have changed, that’s for sure. And they probably won’t be the same for quite a while. But life goes on and so do we. So we have to live it to the fullest within our own possibilities, and I don’t mean financially only, also physically, mentally and spiritually.
GOING TO A MUSEUM
You know, there are many people who are disable or partially disable and they, my goodness, have some courage and huge love for life that inspires me everyday! They have like an internal machine that never stops and keep them going on, loving, moving. So, that is what I was referring to when I mentioned “within our own possibilities”, and our possibilities should be infinite!

It is ignorance and a disregard for human life by Vice president Mike Pence to have entered the Mayo Clinic without a face mask. The Mayo Clinic has a policy that everyone who enters the hospital has to wear a mask, but the Clinic allowed him to tour the premises without it. Everyone else was wearing a mask. Why was the VP not wearing it?
The Vice president of USA is setting a terrible example to the citizens of America and actually to the whole world, in the middle of a pandemic. It is extremely irresponsible and dangerous for the patients he was visiting.
Even though he tests himself every 6 days and has no symptoms he could be spreading the virus; testing yourself today does not guarantee that you are coronavirus free the next day, unless you have been quarantined those 24 hours. The Vice president wasn’t tested the day before. And there is a 15 to 35% of false negative results for coronavirus.
If it would have been my hospital, I personally would have told him to turn around and prohibited his entrance. The life of my patients and medical healthcare providers is a vital priority.
The Mayo Clinic should have not allowed him to enter the hospital without a face mask. The fact that they did is extremely medically irresponsible, an embarrassment for the medical community who are putting their lives in danger in the front line saving lives.
Shame on you for allowing that man to walk around without a mask. Of all the institutes in the whole world, the Mayo Clinic should have strict protocols and adhere to them, no matter who it is that is visiting.
This what some people tweeted:
“The Mayo Clinic was derelict in their responsibility to their staff and patients. They could and should have provide the VP a mask regardless of having advised him and his staff of their policy. This is where the double standard is harmful to all because no good example was set,” DFincher wrote.
What President Trump said yesterday was utterly idiotic and absolutely ignorant and dare I say it, misleading and very dangerous:
I cannot believe, for the life of me, that a President of a country thinks that injecting disinfectants is a cure. For somebody to say that he/she has to be extremely uneducated or severely mentally damaged.
PLEASE: Do not follow ANY advice from President Trump. Like he says himself, he is not a medical doctor, but he is an authority figure -and a moron- and some people might believe him, or worse, do what he says putting their lives in danger.
Dr Irwin Redlener, the director of the Center for Disaster Preparedness at Columbia University, said: “Everything that this scientist talked about from homeland security was basically incoherent, nonsensical, not really supported by evidence and really quite contrary to a lot of things that we do know about some of the things he was saying.
“First of all, people do get Covid, have been getting Covid in warm climates, including New Orleans but also other countries that have a warm climate right now.”
Early today, the British company that makes Lysol issued a statement saying they have been fielding questions as to “whether internal administration of disinfectants may be appropriate for investigation or use as a treatment for coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).”
“As a global leader in health and hygiene products,” the company said, “we must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route).”
Life goes on, with or without a lockdown, staying at home or traveling. Life goes on and we have to make the best out of it. So, even when I am getting a little tiny bit older (lol), my body, my mind celebrates greatly another year of life in this wonderful earth ofours.
A PICTURE OF MINE JUST BEFORE THE LOCKDOWN!
I am going to be so proud of me when I am 100+ years old! Not far to get there, 58 tomorrow, April 18. But I am accepting virtual gifts, celebrations and best wishes starting today!
Even though my work is essential and I can go outside taking all precautions, -social distancing etc-, people are dying around the world, non-essential businesses closed. All this changes ones reality, but it still important to celebrate things in life.
So please, feel free to congratulate me today and tomorrow 😅 Thank you, my virtual friends. I love you all!
